This piece of history is situated right in the heart of Verde country (and the home
of Pavarotti), the whole area is full of culture to explore.
The main house was originally
a 14th century monastery founded by Benedictine monks, but for many years it was
a large farm owned by the grandparents of the present owner -
The house
fell into ruins last century, but in the last few years has very lovingly, tastefully
and beautifully restored by the owners with original four poster beds and antique
furniture and even (for the winter) original stone hot water bottles to warm the
bed.

La Stagno, Cremona, Italy
The estate consists of the Main Mansion, A penthouse apartment, a separate house 50 metres away and two self contained, converted barn apartments. They can all be rented together or hired separately. The estate offers a multitude of possibilities, from both single families to large events such as wedding breakfasts and provides an ideal location for Corporate events. The house was heavily featured in the Italian equivalent of House & Home a few years back.
Outside is a lovely walled garden with stone tiles floor and “fields” of trees as now the extensive grounds for exploring is a “tree farm” The River Po is only 20 min walk through these fields with copious sand banks for picnics, swimming etc.
